My overall thoughts on the Native Instruments Rickenbacker are that the plug-in is exceptional. You can really dial in something special here. I’ve personally used this one quite a bit and it is a go-to for a lot of bands in their production if you don’t own a Rickenbacker bass guitar. When recording, Native Instruments sampled the sounds in order so they could reproduce the sounds in different timbres. The bass was recorded through a DI box to give maximum flexibility in the sound for the producer. You get a really crisp amp tone with this plug-in that sounds pretty realistic in all honesty. While the Rickenbacker sound isn’t for every bassist, this plug-in has been approved by Rickenbacker themselves. These will go well with some jazz VSTs as well.The Native Instruments Rickenbacker is very well known in the production industry.

I would love to see what some of the best piano players of all time would’ve been able to accomplish with some plugins. While a lot of jazz musicians may not like the idea of plugins, I believe everyone can agree on the fact that exploring new ways of writing and growing as a musician is always best. If you’re producing music, sometimes you can spark inspiration off of another instrument and a simple riff you come up with. With this being said, I thought that this article made a ton of sense in since people who love jazz music aren’t going to always have musicians with them.įrom a writing standpoint as well, plugins make a lot of sense. I know, plugins sound kind of counter intuitive for jazz music, right? I totally get it.
